WPT Season #6: North American Poker Championship $10,500 No-Limit Hold'em

One needn't look any further than the most recent WPT event for proof that young players are among the best in the poker world. The North American Poker Championship is special for players under the age of 21. Since the tournament takes place in Canada, players as young as 19 may participate. When the field of 504 had dwindled to a final table of 6, two 19 year olds were still in the hunt for the $1,456,000 first place prize.
Unfortunately for them, both youngsters were the first to depart the final table. Kofi Farkye and "ActionJeff" Garza finished 5th and 6th, respectively. Barry Greenstein, making his 5th WPT final table appearance, finished 4th and won $306,000.
Jonathan Little, already a winner on this year's WPT, almost notched another victory, but had to "settle" for $714,000 and 2nd place. Scott Clements, perhaps the most underrated player in the world, won the tournament. The win moved Clements into 3rd place on this year's Player of the Year standings. The 26 year old already has two WSOP bracelets and over $2,000,000 in career winnings.
The next WPT event starts this week in Connecticut for the World Poker Finals. This is one of the most popular stops on the WPT. Last year's tournament drew 609 players.
