Arizona Issues Health Warning For Poker Chips
Oddities, 2007-11-11, by Ozone
The owners of Gaming Partners International suffered a bad beat this week when it was discovered that their poker chips contain too much lead. State health officials for Arizona issued a warning after high levels of lead were demonstrated to exist in Paulson poker chips. They warned that the chips could be dangerous to children of casino workers.
This discovery was made after an investigation by a Phoenix ABC affiliate. After testing 200 chips, they found that all of them had a level of lead too high for the federal limit.
